As some of you may have experienced by now, we are currently experiencing issues with our PayPal Micro account which handles donations below 12.50 USD/EUR/etc... at a much friendlier fee.
Reason behind the issues we are currently experiencing is due to the fact that we are under a PayPal freeze since the 12th of December. PayPal froze our account after not accepting our 2015 IRS certificate for our legal name, saying the certificate is too old.
What does this mean?
- Currently existing subscriptions under 12.50 USD/EUR/... are NOT arriving onto our PayPal Micro account, which means your Unit is not receiving your money, nor is your money going off of your bank accounts. This has been the case for subscriptions that should have been arrived before the 12th of December.
- One-Time Donations under 12.50 USD/EUR/... at the friendly fee we were benefiting from is currently NOT available either. We have set up a temporary page which allows for One-Time Donations at a slightly higher fee, right here.
What have we done so far to fix these issues?
- We have requested a 2019 IRS certificate stating our legal name, to give to PayPal as their policy only accepts current year certificates, even though the 2015 IRS certificate is valid as it never expires.
- We have created a temporary page so members who still wish to donate can do so right here. Subscriptions below 12.50 USD/EUR/... however are temporarily made unavailable until further notice.
When are we hoping to get this fixed?
