I've been waiting to share some of the exciting things we have going on in Arc Raiders for quite some time now.  Yes, we have an Arc Raiders community within TAW, currently it is housed within the title "Extraction Shooters" and shares a thread with Arena Breakout Infinite and Escape From Tarkov all contained within Vanguard.  If you are looking to join us on Discord you will have to enable viewing "Extraction Shooter" channels to see Arc Raiders along with the other two games.

Arc Raiders is a unique take on the genre for many reasons but for simplicity's sake we will say that yes, Arc Raiders is still at it's core, an extraction shooter.  You run around on a map, you loot things, you shoot things, and you extract - hopefully.  What confuses some players is what the PvPvE aspect of the game really entails, as this is a HUGE dividing factor among both our humble community and the larger player base as a whole.

So, what is PvPvE exactly?  It's where a player can chose to engage in combat with either the Arc (robots that try and kill you) or other players (who also may try and kill you), all while trying to make your way around a map and loot locations for items you need to craft things and stay alive.  Any way you decide to play the game is right and there isn't some chalk line in the dirt that says you have to stand on one side or the other, it's okay to have chalk on your boots too. Some players in our community wish to stick to just hunting the Arc, completing story driven quests, and crafting items and completing collections that have their own inherit rewards - that don't involve any player vs player combat.  Other players prefer to go after other groups of raiders and test their skill, whit, and gear in a winner takes all arena of combat where if you fall you lose everything you had on you.

This leads to a question that I've been asked several times while taking point in Arc Raiders, "How do I play Arc Raiders in TAW?"  The answer is simple, however you want.  There is no right or wrong way to play, that is what has been a huge draw to this title since the beginning.  The human element is what drives this game to its uniqueness, as even when you are expecting a chill encounter things can literally go awry in an instant.  Some of our players like to team up in Trios and test their grit in combat, other players like to play duos and complete quests and go on rather peaceful loot runs, and yet another group entirely prefer to play solo, only teaming up with other raiders when some large undertaking presents itself in game that may require multiple raiders to handle.  All playstyles and teamplay elements fit.  Do you have to be teamed up with other raiders to chill and enjoy this awesome community?  Absolutely not.  Often times I find myself running a quest or peacefully looting a safer zone in solo matches while hearing my fellow TAW members giving some other players the business, it's all in good fun. We enjoy each other's company above all else.

Community is what drives us forward.

With the expedition upon us I'd like to invite players who maybe own the game and haven't thought about playing with others, or who aren't sure if Arc Raiders is really up their ally to enjoy our awesome community together.  Our expedition system is like a traditional wipe on other similar titles that resets a player's inventory and level progress.  With Arc Raiders this wipe is both optional and gives bonus for your next run of the game, thus putting more players on even footing again while breathing fresh life into looting and crafting.  There was never a more perfect time to take a chance at a game that may grow on you like it grew on me.  I don't normally play shooting games but Arc Raiders struck me differently like it has many players.

With this outreach comes some exciting news for our current Arc Raiders members and allies (those members of TAW that join us often from other divisions).  For TAW members that complete their expedition and have at least 4 reported events within Arc Raiders will be gifted 500 raider tokens as a small extension of our appreciation for enjoying this title with your fellow TAW members.
