I suck at this game
So I don't really understand this game past the point of equip stuff, go into a place and get shot right off the bat and lose everything. would really like to feel more helpful when playing so if anyone feels like giving me some training or tips that would be greatly appreciated.
Re: I suck donkeys at this game (Or blow goat. Your preference.)
Use the scav runs and go on loot runs with only your hatchet to learn the maps, each map has a different play style. Learn the spawn points and extract points this will help you know the paths players will be taking towards you.
Quest areas will be busy good places for kills.
Shoot in the face or the legs if they are wearing Armour.
and team up with the guys in EFT they are great players.
Check out EFT`s combat training office a lot links in there to help you.
Re: I suck donkeys at this game (Or blow goat. Your preference.)
Any time you see me in Ill take you into Shoreline or Labs which are the 2 maps I'm most familiar with. I'll kit you out and provide any extra cash needed etc. Obviously simple homework on your part concerning input lag , your hardware , monitor and internet connection are also important. The whole idea here is not being a loner there is family here just reach out in channel while we're playing. I didn't see this till today sorry. Curt
Re: I suck at this game
is this your first time playing the game or have you not played much ???
if so gear fear can creep in very early for many new players. the key is to typically learn vantage points and high traffic area's least thats my way of doing it and and made it work out so far. ive never had a period in the seasonal rankings where ive had lower than 50% survived raids. i hover around 64i%ish.
as a new player id say your scav is your next best friend when it comes to learning the game and quickly picking up skill as you go. your scav doesn't contribute stats towards your PMC so there is no point doing strength training or what not. you specifically only use it for quick looting runs for roubles or for learning maps and getting the layout of the map.
start utilising the wiki and its collections of maps from many community creators. and get a feel of where you can go to loot etc.
other than that the shooting part and aiming / hearing all comes down to time played. directional audio especially elevated audio is hard to narrow down. but you get used to it. there is always scheduled training events every week that you can attend to improve your skills as well as teamwork & communication.
Re: I suck at this game
Sorry for the late bump on this thread, but I too suck at this game. I'm growing increasingly frustrated as I go forward. I know I'm not the greatest FPS player in the world, but I rarely ever kill someone, other than a scav here and there(and if I'm scav I seem to get chewed up and spit out by players killing me). The other problem is i haven't played in a year and I'm trying to get back into this game and I don't know my way around the maps, what to expect, where to expect certain things(like best loot positions, best hiding locations for players etc). I need someone with a dedicated amount of time to teach me. I'm part of EFT 1, so if anyone reads this and wants to help, please do before I get too frustrated and leave the game behind. It's a fun game, don't get me wrong, but it's just frustrating being the weak link in every group I'm in.
Thanks,
mretsam/Steve
